Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is aiming to be fit for the upcoming Serie A match between Juventus and Inter Milan this weekend.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Turkish international has made a full recovery from illness and is back in training.

Inter received a bit of a scare regarding the availability of Calhanoglu for Sunday’s match.

The 29-year-old had missed Turkey’s matches during the international break with illness.

Flu-like symptoms caused Calhanoglu to pull out of Turkey’s training camp.

Calhanoglu is hardly a player who Inter will want to do without against Juventus.

As the Corriere note, the former AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, and Hamburg midfielder has started in every one of the fifteen matches for which he has been fit this season.

And the match against Juventus this weekend has the air of a potential title-decider.

Just two points separate the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri at the top of the Serie A table.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will already be doing without defender Alessandro Bastoni in that match. He will hardly want to also miss Calhanoglu.

Hakan Calhanoglu Aiming To Be Fit For Juventus Vs Inter

According to the Corriere, however, all systems look to be go for Calhanoglu.

The Turk has made a full recovery from his illness. Moreover, Calhanoglu was with his wife for the birth of this third child.

That means that the 29-year-old returned to Inter training yesterday.

Calhanoglu will have several days in which to get his fitness back to its best.

As such, there is little chance of the Turk missing out on Sunday’s match.

Calhanoglu should without a doubt be in the team.

This is certainly a boost for Inter.

Calhanoglu is a key player for Inter both in and out of possession at the base of midfield.
