Midfielders Tomas Soucek and Piotr Zielinski are among Inter Milan’s targets for potential free transfer deals next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s propensity to make free transfer signings is no great secret.

The arrival of Beppe Marotta as CEO in 2018 cemented this as a key pillar of the Nerazzurri’s transfer strategy.

And the final problems that have deepened since the start of the pandemic have made pursuing such deals all the more useful for Inter.

The Nerazzurri don’t just stumble into these kinds of signings, either.

The club monitor the market carefully in search of opportunities. And once they find then, Marotta and his fellow directors start to lay the groundwork.

And according to the Corriere, that is exactly what Inter are doing with four players in particular.

Soucek & Zielinski Among Inter Free Transfer Targets

Napoli midfielder Piotr ZIelinski would certainly represent a major coup for Inter.

The Nerazzurri have already brought in two top-class midfielders on free transfers from Serie A rivals. That is the route via which Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived.

And at 29 years of age, Zielinski would certainly be a statement signing without a transfer fee.

Meanwhile, there is another player on an expiring contract who Inter are looking at to beef up their midfield – this time from the Premier League.

28-year-old Czech international Tomas Soucek sees his contract with West Ham run out at the end of next June.

And according to the Corriere, Inter are keeping close tabs on Soucek’s situation.

In defense, Tiago Djalo is a player who has been on Inter’s radar for at least a year.

But with the Portuguese’s deal with Lille running out in less than twelve months’ time, he could represent an even more enticing target.

And lastly, there is Iranian international Mehdi Taremi.

Inter had reportedly tried to sign the 31-year-old this summer. But Porto’s asking price proved to be prohibitive.

That wouldn’t be a problem next summer, however.

Taremi’s deal with the Poruguese giants expires at the end of next June. Therefore, Inter could try and bring in the Iranian on a free transfer.
