Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck laments his team’s first-half display against Benfica which saw them concede three goals.

The Nerazzurri started the encounter with their second-string line-up since they had already qualified for the Champions League Round of 16.

Joao Mario punished his former employers by scoring thrice in the first period.

But luckily for Simone Inzaghi, his men mounted a memorable comeback to finish the match on level terms.

Marko Arnautovic, Davide Frattesi and Alexis Sanchez (from the spot) all scored to rescue a draw.

After the encounter in Lisbon, Yann Bisseck could only rue the events of the first half.

Nevertheless, the young defender insists that his side remain eager to win the final group stage match against Real Sociedad and secure the top spot.

The Nerazzurri need a win at home against the Spaniards to finish on top of the group.

“We didn’t do well at the start when they scored three,” said the 23-year-old in his post-match interview with UEFA.com via FcInterNews.

“It was a shame to concede those goals but everyone, including myself, did well in the second period.

“As for the last game, we want to win it. We always want to prevail.”

The Germany U21 starlet earned his second start in the Champions League on his 23rd birthday.

Bisseck joined Inter in the summer from Danish side Aarhus, signing a contract until 2028.

He only made two brief cameos in Serie A but his game time is improving following Benjamin Pavard’s injury.
