Inter Milan defender Matteo Darmian feels that the Nerazzurri are not feeling the pressure from Juventus in the Serie A title race.

The 34-year-old spoke to InterTV ahead of this evening’s Serie A match away to Napoli, via FCInterNews.

Inter go into this evening’s match second in the table.

The Nerazzurri can restore their two-point gap at the top with a win. And in the event of a draw they would go level on points with Juventus at the top.

Such is the margin of victory in the Serie A title race at the moment.

Inter and Juventus played out a cagey stalemate last weekend that kept things tight as ever at the top.

And then the Bianconeri took three points away from their match against Monza on Friday, following some late drama.

Both of the two teams at the top are making each other work to keep in the race.

That is not to say that other sides like AC Milan or Inter’s opponents Napoli aren’t also still in contention. Not least because they are the two most recent winners of the title.

But it is Inter and Juventus who currently look to be the outstanding teams.

But according to Nerazzurri defender Darmian, the pressure is not a problem for he and his teammates.

Inter Defender Matteo Darmian: Not Feeling Pressure From Juventus

Defender Darmian was asked ahead of this evening’s match whether the team are feeling the pressure from the Bianconeri.

“No,” he replied. “We have to take to the pitch the same we have been since the start of the season.”

“We know that Napoli are a tough opponent,” he continued.

“But we’ll try to take home the three points.”

As far as stopping Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Darmian was reminded that the Georgian had struggled in this fixture last season.

“I hope that it’s the same this season as well,” the 34-year-old said.

“But we’ll have to work as a team to stop him.”

“The key is that we work well as a collective to bring home three points,” Darmian emphasized.
