Young attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni could return to Inter Milan next summer after shining for Monza against Juventus.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Carboni has been playing for Monza on loan since the start of the season.
The teenager joined the Brianzoli on a one-season loan deal during the summer.
There is no purchase option included in the deal.
Inter have made clear that they want to retain firm control of Carboni’s future. The Argentine is still a player who the Nerazzurri see as having a place in their future plans.
But Monza appeared to be the right environment for Carboni to start to spread his wings with more regular playing time.
In the first few weeks of the campaign, that did not prove to be the case.
On the contrary, Carboni found opportunities to play very hard to come by.
But there have been signs that the 18-year-old is starting to show his quality.

Carboni had his most impressive display yet for Monza against Juventus on Friday.
The 18-year-old came off the bench, replacing Andrea Colpani.
Colpani has been Monza’s star man this season. But the 24-year-old failed to really spark anything against Juventus.
With the Brianzoli trailing 0-1, coach Raffaele Palladino put his faith in Carboni to inspire the team back into the match.
And that is exactly what the Argentine did.
Carboni’s stoppage time goal appeared for all the world to have snatched a point for the Lombard team.
That is of course not how it proved. Juventus got an even later goal of their own, courtesy of defender Federico Gatti.
But none of that takes away from the impressive cameo from Carboni.
Therefore, there is a sense that the young attacking midfielder could be taking his first steps towards carving out a place for himself at his parent club Inter.
Maybe even as early as next summer.
