Inter Milan president Steven Zhang looks back on an eventful 2023 for the club while reiterating the objectives for the upcoming year.

The 31-year-old didn’t attend the club’s Christmas dinner in person, but delivered a message of support for his team through a video message.

The Chinese businessman recalled the events of the year in his speech, taking pride in the club’s achievements.

Normally, he considers reaching the Champions League final last season as the club’s most significant feat in the year.

“This evening we remember the great emotions we experienced together in 2023,” said Zhang in his video appearance via FcInterNews,

“We reached the most important stage of world football in Istanbul and added two more Cups to our trophy cabinet.”

The Nerazzurri patron insists that the club’s main objective remains winning the Scudetto and adding a second star to the club’s crest.

“Our objective for this season is clear to everyone: We continue to fight for our dream of obtaining the Second Star for our club.

“Thanks to the work of everyone within Inter and the support of all our fans, Inter is becoming a modern, innovative, digital company.

“There are new challenges ahead, new competitors, but also great opportunities ahead of us.

“I am thinking of the new Champions League format and the Club World Cup. We have already qualified for the first edition in 2025.”

Moreover, Zhang underlines the importance of maintaining financial sustainability and opens up on the new stadium project.

“To achieve this and all the ambitious objectives we have set ourselves, it is very important to maintain the financial stability of our club and continue the path of infrastructure renewal.

“Owning a new stadium is a project that we are carrying forward with an eye towards the future.

“What we have achieved in recent years is the starting point for the future of our club. Winning will always be our priority.

“I would like to thank all of you who represent the excellence of Inter’s values.”
