Forward Alexis Sanchez will definitely miss out on tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia match between Inter Milan and Bologna through injury.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Former Arsenal and Barcelona veteran Sanchez was not able to play any part in Inter’s Serie A match away to Lazio over the weekend.

The reason for this was a muscular problem that the Chilean had picked up in training.

There had initially been hope of Sanchez recovering in time to play against Bologna tomorrow.

However, Sky reports, that will not be the case.

The 34-year-old is still training apart from the rest of the Inter squad. Therefore, there will be no chance of his being part of the squad for tomorrow evening’s match.

Alexis Sanchez To Miss Out On Inter Vs Bologna Coppa Italia Clash

The hope will be to have Sanchez back in action for Saturday evening’s match against Lecce in Serie A.

But as far as tomorrow evening’s match, there would be no chance of the Chilean featuring.

Accordingly, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have just three senior forwards at his disposal for tomorrow’s Coppa Italia round of sixteen clash.

The usual starting pair of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will be fit.

And Marko Arnautovic will also be available. The former West Ham United and Stoke City striker has been available for quite a few weeks now after recovering from a thigh injury.

Arnautovic will certainly be in the starting eleven as Inzaghi aims to rotate his team. The coach will look to give a rest to at least one of Martinez and Thuram.

In fact, it looks very likely that it will be a midfielder like Stefano Sensi or Davy Klaassen moving into attack for tomorrow’s match, so that both of Martinez and Thuram can get a rest.
