Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has earned the title of the “Human GPS” for his tireless performance against Lecce.

L’Interista highlight the positive scores that the Armenian received for his display in the player ratings for the 2-0 Nerazzurri win across Italian media.

Mkhitaryan had quite a bit of license to venture forward throughout yesterday’s match.

The 34-year-old had a little more attacking responsibility than usual. Inter coach Simone Inzaghi evidently asked him to make plenty of runs into channel in front of the Lecce penalty area.

There, Mkhitaryan was able to regularly link up with wingback Carlos Augusto and with the Nerazzurri strikers.

This in fact proved to be one of the most productive routes to goal for Inter.

Particularly in the first half, Mkhitaryan was an engine of the team’s creative play. He was always on hand to help his teammates work the ball into the penalty area.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Labelled “The Human GPS” For Performance Vs Lecce

The one thing that Mkhitaryan’s performance against Lecce was lacking was a goal.

The former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Roma midfielder did not quite have the finishing touch in the penalty area.

But that certainly did not prevent Mkhitaryan from orchestrating things in and around the box.

The Armenian’s technical ability was on full display throughout the match.

But above all, Saturday’s match exhibited Mkhitaryan’s remarkable stamina and workrate.

Throughout the match, the 34-year-old was constantly in the right place at the right time.

And when Mkhitaryan arrived in those moments, he did so with a knack to be half a second quicker than the Lecce midfielders.

This gave Inter a very high tempo in the midfield battle.

The Lecce players did what they could to try and outrun Inter in central areas. But Mkhitaryan proved to be a bit to quick in mind and body for them.
