Inter Milan could offload either Stefano Sensi or Lucien Agoume during the January transfer window in order to make a deal for Tajon Buhanan possible.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

It’s no secret that Inter are trying to sign Club Brugge and Canada winger Buchanan next month.

The Nerazzurri have earmarked the 24-year-old as the player to reinforce on their right flank.

With Juan Cuadrado on the sidelines for at least three months recovering from surgery, and Denzel Dumfries also currently out, Inter want to sign a wingback to cover in the position.

And Buchanan is the player who Inter want to sign.

The Nerazzurri are pushing to sign the Canadian on an initial loan deal.

This could be a paid loan with a fee of around €1-2 million. Then, there would be an obligation to sign Buchanan on a permanent basis next summer.

Inter are ready to offer a permanent fee of around €7-8 million. Meanwhile Brugge want €12-13 million.

The clubs could very well meet somewhere in the middle to agree on a final fee.

Inter Could Offload Sensi Or Agoume Then Sign Buchanan

Even with an initial paid loan deal, however, Inter will have to find a way to make signing Buchanan financially within reach.

The commitment of a loan fee and Buchanan’s wages would not be easy for the Nerazzurri considering their virtually-nonexistent budget for next month.

But one realistic possibility would be for Inter to first offload an out-of-favour player from their squad.

Midfielder Sensi is one possibility. The Italian international’s contract runs out at the end of next June, but even if he left without a transfer fee, it would still save Inter around €2 million on his wages.

And Agoume is all but certain to leave next month, whether permanently or on loan.

The Frenchman surprisingly stayed at Inter during the summer transfer window. But he has been nothing more than a bit part player.

But a January transfer could either bring in a transfer fee that would fund a move for Buchanan, or at least lighten Inter’s wage bill in order to facilitate Inter signing the Canadian.
