Defender Francesco Acerbi feels that the draw was the fair result for Inter Milan in this evening’s Serie A match away to Genoa.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, via FCInterNews, the 35-year-old also emphasized that the fans made the difference. He compared the Marassi crowd to Nerazzurri fans at the San Siro.

For the first time in a month, Inter slipped up in Serie A this evening.

The Nerazzurri had found the opening goal towards the end of the first half. Striker Marko Arnautovic scored his first ever goal for Inter in Serie A to break the deadlock.

But then not long after, Genoa defender Radu Dragusin responded with a towering header from a set piece.

And from then on, neither side could break through again.

It was a frenetic start to the second half. Genoa’s high press and physicality from set pieces caused Inter plenty of problems.

Then as the second half wound down, both teams noticeably dropped off in terms of energy.

There were a few chances for the Nerazzurri to score during the second half to regain their advantage.

But in truth, so were there chances for the Rossoblu to complete the comeback.

In the end, though, neither side were able to break the deadlock after halftime.

Genoa earned yet another result against a big team at the Marassi. And Inter dropped points to give Juventus a chance to gain ground in the title race, but at least avoided defeat.

After the match, Acerbi remarked that “We play at the San Siro. So we know what a difference the fans can make.”

“We conceded the goal from a corner,” he continued.

“But I think the draw was a fair result.”

“We struggled from set pieces, and we didn’t create much,” Acerbi said. “The result was fair.”
