Inter Milan are pushing to wrap up a deal to sign Club Brugge winger Tajon Buchanan for early in January 2024.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri want to integrate the 24-year-old into their squad in time for the Supercoppa Italiana.

Inter’s pursuit of Buchanan is now in full swing.

The Nerazzurri are not the only team with an interest in the Canadian international’s signature. Premier League duo Manchester City and Bournemouth are both also interested.

But it is far and way Inter who are leading the charge.

The Nerazzurri have already begun talks with Brugge, making an initial offer.

And the player himself would be very happy to make the move to join Inter.

The Nerazzurri are confident that they will complete a deal for Buchanan sooner or later. And as far as the club’s preferred timeline, the emphasis is on “sooner.”

Inter Want To Sign Tajon Buchanan For Early In 2024

Inter could wait until the end of the January transfer window to sign Buchanan.

But that does not really suit the Nerazzurri, considering the reason why they are targeting the 24-year-old in the first place.

Inter want to bring in Buchanan very soon so that they can bolster the squad on the right flank, a position where it’s looking thin at the moment.

The long-term absence of Juan Cuadrado, as well as some fitness issues for Denzel Dumfries, mean that Inter feel that they do not have adequate cover at right-wingback for the rest of the season.

The Nerazzurri may not have any more Coppa Italia matches to come after crashing out of the competition against Bologna earlier this month.

But there are still important matches in the league and the Champions League.

And there is also the Supercoppa. Inter will face Lazio in the semifinal of the competition on the 19th of January.

And the Nerazzurri want to have Buchanan as an option, and up to speed, by the time that rolls around.

Therefore, Inter’s aim is to have signed Buchanan already by the time they face Hellas Verona on the sixth.
