Lille defender Tiago Djalo has agreed to join Inter Milan but wants playing time guarantees, whilst Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and PSG wait in the wings.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter have been moving aggressively in their pursuit of 23-year-old Portguese youth international Djalo.

The defender’s contract with Lille runs out at the end of next June. And he has made clear that he will not extend his deal.

Therefore the Nerazzurri have sensed an opportunity to sign Djalo on a free transfer next summer.

And the contacts with the player’s representatives have been very positive.

Djalo has been very receptive to the idea of joining Inter when his contract with Lille expires.

This has put the Nerazzurri in the driver’s seat to sign the Portuguese.

But that does not mean that Inter are the only team still hoping to sign Djalo next summer.

Inter Have Promise From Tiago Djalo – But Juventus, Atletico & PSG Wait In Wings

From Inter’s perspective, the key factor remains Djalo’s own desire.

The 23-year-old has made perfectly clear that he wants to join Inter.

The talks with Djalo and his entourage are fairly well-established, and the Nerazzurri have convinced the Portuguese that they are the right destination for him next season.

Inter’s offer has convinced Djalo as far as personal terms. As has their outlining of their project and his place in it.

But, with Djalo having just come back from a knee injury that kept him on the sidelines for a number of months, the defender’s desire for playing time could also be key.

First of all, Djalo wants playing time over the rest of the season. And secondly, the 23-year-old will expect a prominent role at Inter.

And should the defender change his mind, then all of Juventus, Atletico, and Paris Saint-Germain will be ready to try and poach him from Inter’s grasp.
