Inter Milan are aiming to offload midfielders Lucien Agoume and Stefano Sensi this month, but won’t sign replacements.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet anticipate that the Nerazzurri will stick with the other six senior midfielders already in the squad, and then give chances to younger players.

At the moment, midfield is a position in which Inter are quite well-stocked.

There is the starting trio of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Then, there are the main backup options, Davide Frattesi, Kristjan Asllani, and Davy Klassen.

Frattesi and Asllani have made regular substitute appearances. But they have found starts harder to come by.

And Klaassen has been on the fringes of the team, but has made a couple of appearances. He has started once in each of Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.

But then, the likes of Agoume and Sensi virtually haven’t featured for Inter this season.

The former has played just four minutes – away to Salernitana. And Sensi hasn’t played much more – the ex-Sassuolo midfielder has yet to start for Inter.

Inter Aiming To Offload Agoume & Sensi In January

According to FCIN, Inter’s plan is to have both Agoume and Sensi leave this month.

In the case of the Frenchman, Sevilla and Marseille have both made loan offers.

Therefore it shouldn’t be long before Agoume joins one of the two. It will all come down to the player’s decision.

And then Inter will also try and find a new club for Sensi.

If the Nerazzurri can recoup a small fee for the 28-year-old they would be happy to do so. And, at the very least, having the wages of a player who rarely appears off the books would be a positive.

But even if Inter do offload both Agoume and Sensi, they will not sign any new midfielders in January.

The six senior midfielders remaining in the squad will be enough, reports FCIN.

Then, as far as beefing up the squad, youngsters Aleksander Stankovic, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, and Issiaka Kamate could get some opportunities.
