Inter Milan midfielder Lucien Agoume is one step away from joining Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Agoume is currently part of Inter’s squad.

This is something of a surprise considering the the Frenchman has little place in the Nerazzurri’s project. He has barely featured for Inter this season.

Agoume played just a few minutes off the bench in a 4-0 win away to Salernitana.

During the summer transfer window, it had long looked as though Agoume would leave Inter, whether on loan or on a permanent basis.

But despite links to a number of different clubs, there was no transfer before deadline day.

Therefore, Agoume has stayed at Inter.

But it has then looked likely that the France Under-21 international would leave in January.

Inter & Sevilla Negotiating Lucien Agoume Loan Move

There are a few different clubs across several European leagues who have expressed an interest in Agoume’s signature.

But according to the Gazzetta, it is Sevilla who have emerged as the top candidates to sign the 21-year-old.

The La Liga side and reigning Europa League champions are keen to make reinforcements in midfield for the second half of the season.

And Agoume is a player they see as having the right profile.

Therefore, Agoume could have his first experience in Spanish football very soon.

The two clubs are currently working out the final details of the transfer.

It will be a loan deal until the end of the season. Then at the end of the campaign, Sevilla will have option to sign Agoume on a permanent basis for a fee of around €8 million.

The young midfielder has already had a few loan spells since joining Inter.

Agoume has played one season in Serie A, on loan with Spezia during the 2020-21 season.

Then during the two seasons prior to this one, the Frenchman played on loan with clubs in his homeland.

Agoume spent the 2021-22 season on loan with Brest.

Then last time around, the Inter-owned midfielder was back in Ligue 1 for another campaign on loan with Troyes.
