Simone Inzaghi wants to have winger Tajon Buchanan bedded into the Inter Milan squad by the time the team play in the Supercoppa Italiana.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, the timing regarding Buchanan’s move to Inter is fairly clear.

The Canadian should arrive in Italy today, and then tomorrow he can complete his medicals and sign his new contract.

This will mean that Buchanan can likely have his first training session on Friday.

What’s not certain is whether Buchanan will be part of Inter’s squad on Saturday when the Nerazzurri host Hellas Verona at the San Siro in Serie A.

If he is to be, then it’s certainly not as though the 24-year-old would start.

At most, Buchanan might be able to play a few minutes off the bench.

The Canadian international has not played a full ninety minutes in over a months. He has been out of Brugge’s last couple matchday squads due to the ongoing negotiations with Inter.

And of course, getting up to speed in Inter’s tactical system will be a long process.

Inzaghi Wants Tajon Buchanan Bedded In At Inter For Supercoppa Italiana

Buchanan will certainly take far more than just a few weeks to really find his feet at Inter.

There will be an expected adaptation process, and the 24-year-old will have to learn his role and what the expectations are in his position in stages.

So Buchanan won’t be a starter right away. He can take time to adjust to Italian football.

But Inzaghi wants the Canadian ready to at least start getting experience on the pitch soon.

Not for Saturday’s match against Hellas Verona. And in the following weekend’s clash with Monza, it will likely be the same story.

But once the Supercoppa Italiana comes around later this month, Inzaghi wants Buchanan to be ready to play.

That will mark the point when Inter’s depth at right-wingback really starts being tested.

So the Nerazzurri coach wants to be able to show his faith in Buchanan to make a tangible contribution already by that point.
