The agent of Luis Muriel expects the Inter Milan transfer target to renew his expiring contract with Atalanta.

The 32-year-old has represented the likes of Udinese, Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Sevilla in the past, but has been plying his trade in Bergamo since 2019.

However, his contract with La Dea will expire at the end of the season, leaving his future up in the air.

In recent weeks, the Colombian emerged as a potential transfer target for Inter.

The Nerazzurri are working on adding several soon-to-be free agents to their ranks for next season.

Nevertheless, Muriel’s agent Andrea D’Amico reveals that he and his client are in constant talks with the management of Atalanta.

The renowned agent expects to find an agreement with the Orobici that would keep the striker at the Gewiss Stadium.

“There is still time left for the renewal,” said D’Amico in an interview with Mediaset (via FcInterNews) while attending Atalanta’s Coppa Italia encounter against Sassuolo.

“The relationship with Atalanta is excellent. The solution will be found. We’re having daily talks.”

Muriel hasn’t been a regular feature in Gian Piero Gasperini’s starting lineup this season. The experienced tactician has been preferring younger options, like Ademola Lookman, Gianluca Scamacca and Charles De Ketelaere.

Nonetheless, the 32-year-old still displays occasional flashes of brilliance, like an astonishing backheel winner against AC Milan.

The veteran scored two goals and provided an assist in 15 Serie A appearances, most off the bench.

He also netted four strikes in his five Europa League outings this season.
