Sevilla coach Enrique Sanchez Flores heaped praise on Lucien Agoume who has just completed his transfer from Inter Milan.

The Andalusians officially unveiled the Frenchman as their newest signing on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old was eager to join the Spanish side, even though Olympique Marseille were also on his heels.

Agoume has signed for Sevilla on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season. Therefore, he remains on Inter’s books, and might well return to Appiano Gentile in the summer if he fails to convince.

Nevertheless, his new coach Sanchez Flores has high expectations for the defensive midfielder.

The 58-year-old highlighted the Frenchman’s strong physical attributes and believes that his Spanish fluency will help him adjust swiftly.

“I know Agoume because I watch a lot of football,” said the Sevilla manager in his pre-match press conference via FcInterNews.

“Lucien is ready, he has an extraordinary physique and a magnificent physical condition.

“He needs to get familiar with us a little more and I hope to integrate him into the squad as soon as possible.

“The fact that he speaks Spanish and can communicate with his teammates helps massively.”

The Rojiblancos will host Alaves on Friday evening in a league fixture. So it remains to be seen if Agoume will earn some minutes.

The 21-year-old only played a single competitive match for Inter this season, coming in for a late cameo against Salernitana at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno back in September.

Agoume signed for the Nerazzurri in 2019 but spent most of his stint out on loan. He played for Spezia, Brest and Troyes in the previous three campaigns.
