Monza manager Raffaele Palladino only had words of praise while discussing Inter Milan loanee Valentin Carboni.

The 18-year-old is one of the most promising youngsters in Inter’s ranks. The management decided to send him on loan so he could gain some valuable Serie A experience in Brianza.

The Argentine has been slowly but surely gaining the trust of his manager. He delivered the goods last weekend by producing a goal and an assist against Frosinone.

On Saturday evening, the attacking midfielder will be up against his parent club as Monza host Inter at the U-Power Stadium.

In his pre-match press conference, Biancorossi coach Palladino lauded Carboni for his exceptional talent.

“Talent must be protected. Carboni is a jewel. Now he is ready to prove his worth,” said the 39-year-old via FcInter1908.

“I’m not worried about the media exposure as we’re talking about a very serious young man.”

Palladino also touched on the controversy surrounding recent refereeing incidents.

“We must leave the referees alone. It’s obvious that if we keep creating controversy with every mistake, we put them under great pressure.

“We need to leave them tranquil even if it means tolerating some mistakes. Refs are fundamental to football.”

The Monza tactician also urged his players to deliver a strong performance against the league leaders after falling short against other top clubs this season.

“This is a great test of maturity. Inter are first in the standings and have improved a lot since last season.

“We know that this term we didn’t do well against the big teams. So I want to see an ambitious and slender Monza this time.”

“We can put them in difficulty by playing the perfect match and not underestimating anything.  We will have to give 110%.

“Monza must try to overcome this great test. We’ve been doing well recently and we need to stay consistent.

“This is a group that loves competition. We enjoy challenging great players.”
