Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that there is something special to Inter Milan that no other team he’s been in has.
The Armenian spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews. He praised his teammates and the atmosphere within the squad after the Nerazzurri’s 5-1 Serie A win over Monza.
Inter sent another clear message to the rest of Serie A with their performance against Monza this evening.
The Nerazzurri scored five goals to take their total for the season in the league to an eye-watering 53.
There have been one or two stumbles. But by and large, Inter look like they have taken all the momentum from reaching the Champions League final last season and built on it.
Last season did ultimately end in heartbreak in the Champions League final.
But the fact that Inter had even reached that far – and gone toe-to-toe with Manchester City in Istanbul – was an indication of just what kind of attitude and quality the team has.
And the Nerazzurri have only built on that over the first half of this season.
This evening’s win over Monza was one more example of that.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Inter Are Special
After this evening’s match, Mkhitaryan said that “I always do my best.”
“Then the coach decides whether to play me or not. We have a very strong squad.”
Mkhitaryan said that “We’re all top players. We make sacrifices, we fight for the team, we want to win trophies.”
The 34-year-old went on, “I can say that we’re special.”
“I don’t look too far ahead, we think one match at a time. Right now there’s the Supercoppa semifinal.”
“Then we want to win the final.”
“When we return from Saudi Arabia we we’ll think about the league again.”
Mkhitaryan said that “We know that Juve are putting pressure on us. But we’re top players, you can see it in every training session.”
“I’ve never seen this quality in another team,” the veteran midfielder added.
“And we’re aware of what we’re doing and the objectives we want to achieve.”
