Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that the current Inter Milan team is the best one that he has played for.

The 34-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after his team’s 5-1 Serie A win over Monza.

Mkhitaryan has now been at Inter for right around a year and a half.

The Armenian former Arsenal and Manchester United man joined from Roma in the summer of 2022.

It has certainly been an eventful period in Mkhitaryan’s career.

The veteran midfielder has become a key fixture in Inter’s starting eleven. And he has been at the heart of some of their best performances and moments of form.

Not everything has been positive for Inter since Mkhitaryan.

But the team reached a Champions League final last season. They also won both domestic cup competitions.

This time around, it is in Serie A where Inter are really shining.

The Nerazzurri have slipped up on one or two occasions in the league.

But the 51 points that the team have taken so far in the table are a testament to just how positive their start to the campaign has been.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: This Is The Best Inter Team I’ve Played For

In the view of midfielder Mkhitaryan, this Inter team has surpassed even the one from last season.

Asked if this is the best Inter team he’s played for, the 34-year-old replied, “In my opinion, yes.”

“Unfortunately I’ve only been here for a little while,” he noted.

“But this is the strongest that Inter have been while I’ve been here.”

Of the team’s emphatic performance against Monza, Mkhitaryan said that “We learned from the mistakes we made against Verona.”

“We didn’t want to repeat them tonight,” he continued.

“We were more precise, focused, switched-on.”

Mkhitaryan noted that “In the first twenty minutes we could have scored 3-4 goals, but instead we only scored two. We’ll take the result and keep going.”
