The agent of wingback Tajon Buchanan feels that Inter Milan’s 3-5-2 system will be the perfect formation for him.

The Canadian’s agent Mike Senkowski spoke to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, discussing the tactical role that Buchanan could play.

Buchanan arrived at Inter this month with a fairly clear purpose.

The Nerazzurri decided to sign the 24-year-old due to Juan Cuadrado having had surgery.

The idea was that Buchanan would be an option on the right flank.

Inter already have the likes of Denzel Dumfries and Matteo Darmian who can play at right-wingback. However, the latter is also a key player at right-centre-back.

The question, then, concerns what kind of style Buchanan will play on the right.

There are different profiles that can play in the wingback role. It would be something of a new challenge for Buchanan.

But as far as he is concerned, the Canadian’s agent believes that the formation that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will be absolutely perfect for him to play at his best.

Agent Of Tajon Buchanan: Inter 3-5-2 Perfect For Him

As far as the 3-5-2 system at Inter, Buchanan’s agent said that “It is perfect for him.”

He continued that “He began his career as a striker, and then played as a winger.”

“From Syracuse University he moved to MLS,” the agent explained.

“He had Bruce Arena, former US coach, as his coach there,” the agent said of Buchanan.

“And that coach decided to play him as a winger.”

“Then at Brugge, he showed great versatility,” Buchanan explained. “Precisely because he played as a winger. But also as a fullback.”

He noted that “Tajon is an explosive player in the attacking phase.”

“And he’s also improved in the defensive phase thanks to the work he’s done in the past few months,” the agent continued regarding Buchanan’s tactical development.
