Striker Ciro Immobile is a doubt to start for Lazio in Friday’s Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews.

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri could be facing a bit of a headache as far as how he’ll set up his attack on Friday.

The Biancocelesti do know that they’ll be without one forward in the form of Taty Castellanos.

The Argentine will miss the Supercoppa semifinal against Inter, as well as a prospective final against Napoli or Fiorentina, due to an adductor problem.

That will take Castellanos around two weeks to recover from, reports suggest.

Castellanos had been starting whilst Immobile was out with a hamstring injury. And the Italian international is back from his injury.

However, the question of whether or not Immobile will be in condition to play from the start is more up in the air.

Uncertain If Ciro Immobile Fit To Start For Lazio Vs Inter

Immobile did come onto the pitch as a substitute in Lazio’s Serie A win over Lecce this past weekend.

The Biancocelesti captain played out the last ten minutes of the match plus stoppage time. He went into the book late in the match.

But it was still ultimately little more than a cameo appearance from Immboile.

The 33-year-old is certainly fit to play. But as far as whether he can see out the full ninety minutes, it’s something of a race against time.

If Immobile is unable to play from the start on Friday, the Corriere della Sera anticipate that Biancocelesti coach Sarri will utilize Felipe Anderson as a centre-forward.

That was the solution that the coach opted for against Lecce.

Then Mattia Zaccagni would play on the left of the front three. And one of Gustav Isaksen or Pedro would start on the right.
