Inter Milan and Leicester City have agreed a transfer of midfielder Stefano Sensi, but the Foxes must make a sale first.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market Gianluca Di Marzio, via his homepage.

Leicester have set their sights on former Sassuolo midfielder Sensi.

The driving force behind the Championship club’s interest is their coach Enzo Maresca.

The Italian coach took charge of the Foxes last summer, after they had been relegated from the Premier League.

And so far they are thriving under Maresca’s stewardship, top of the Englash second division league table.

Maresca, who was formerly assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, is shaping Leicester into his preferred style of play.

And Sensi is a player who the coach believes would fit in well.

The Italian international joined Inter from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019. However, injuries have been a big reason why he has not played regularly.

Sensi has played for the likes of Sampdoria and Monza on loan.

The 28-year-old has been back at Inter since last summer. However, he has barely featured, not starting once this season despite largely being fit.

Inter & Leicester Agree Deal For Stefano Sensi – But Foxes Must Sell First

According to Di Marzio, Inter and Leicester have already agreed a deal.

The Foxes would pay around €2 million for Sensi. The precise amount would be dependent on the East Midlands-based club achieving promotion to the Premier League.

And Sensi himself would be keen to make the move.

However, Leicester cannot complete the deal until they first sell a player.

The Foxes’ financial situation, as a second division club, would make the €2 million deal unrealistic without first making a sale.

However, Leicester would be ready to seal a deal for Sensi as soon as they do so.

Therefore, Sensi’s situation would be dependent on whether or not Leicester can offload a player in their squad before the end of the January transfer window.
