Matteo Darmian is set to start for Inter Milan in tomorrow evening’s Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Lazio.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. Sky anticipate that the 34-year-old will play at right-wingback ahead of Denzel Dumfries.

By and large, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has already made his selection decisions for tomorrow evening’s match.

The Nerazzurri boss wants to start his strongest possible team, more or less.

But one area where Inzaghi has had a decision to make has been on the right flank.

Both of Darmian and Dumfries have started a number of matches in the position so far this season.

Meanwhile, Tajon Buchanan signed for Inter earlier this month. However, it is not as though the Canadian international would be likely to start so early on into his Nerazzurri career.

And Juan Cuadrado will be out for the foreseeable future as he recovers from a calf surgery that he received in December.

Matteo Darmian Favourite Over Denzel Dumfries To Start For Inter Vs Lazio

According to Sky, Inzaghi is starting to favour starting Darmian on the right tomorrow.

Initially, the coach had been inclined towards Dumfries.

That would see Darmian drop to the bench, after the Italian international and former Manchester United defender had started against Monza over the weekend.

Bu there may be a place in the team for Darmian after all.

Dumfries will once again start the match on the bench, Sky predicts.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard will start on the right of the back three, a position in which Darmian is also more than capable of playing.

Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni will play in defense alongside the Frenchman.

And then on the right flank, 26-year-old Italian international Federico Dimarco is set to start.

That will mean that Carlos Augusto, Yann Bisseck, and Stefan de Vrij are among the substitutes.
