Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi believes that this evening’s match against Lazio will certainly be a tough test for his team.

Inter meet Lazio in the semifinal of the Supercoppa this evening.

The match sees Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi face his former team the Biancocelesti for the sixth time.

Inter have beaten Lazio three times under the 47-year-old. And the team from the Italian capital have won on two occasions.

That is evidence of the fact that when Inzaghi’s current and former teams meet, the matches tend to be fairly even.

Moreover, even when Inter beat Lazio last month, the Biancocelesti put in a very strong performance, at least before going behind towards the end of the first half.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi: Lazio Always Cause Us Problems

Of playing for the Supercoppa for the third season in a row, Inzaghi said that “It’s gratifying in light of what we did last season.”

“Now we’re here,” he continued.

“The format of the competition has changed, and we have to adapt.”

Inzaghi predicted that “Tomorrow will be a very difficult match against a Lazio team who are in great form.”

Of the team’s preparations for this evening’s match, Inzaghi noted that “We only had one training session [on Wednesday.]”

“We started preparing for the match well.”

The Nerazzurri coach made clear that “It won’t be easy playing against a team that has always caused problems for us in the last few years.”

Inzaghi noted that “We’ll have to play well as a team.”

The coach said of Lazio that “They’re a team that play well on the flanks. But also between the lines.”

“We’ll absolutely have to play a match of top quality.”
