Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi felt his players were a pleasure to watch during the rampant 3-0 win over Lazio in the Super Cup semi-final.

The 47-year-old led his side towards the final at the expense of his former employers. The Biancocelesti had no answer to the Nerazzurri’s brilliant display.

Marcus Thuram scored the opener in the first half. Hakan Calhanoglu doubled the lead from the spot after the break and Davide Frattesi made it three in the final stretch.

Therefore, Inzaghi praised his men for a fine showing, while hoping that they recover their energy levels ahead of Monday’s finale against Napoli.

“The boys were very good tonight. We played an excellent match.” said the Inter manager in his post-match interview with Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews.

“We immediately approached the match well. We had a great display. We were eager to reach the final.

“Now we have to recover energy in the next two and a half days because it will be a very difficult final against Napoli.”

“We have never played this tournament in two matches. We will adapt and try to prepare for the final against Napoli in the best possible manner.

“I complimented the boys. I enjoyed watching their performance.”

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Enjoyed The Brilliant Display Against Lazio

But despite the convincing display, Inzaghi recognizes the failure to convert their flurry of chances to goals as a flaw that the team must rectify.

“The 1-0 lead in the first half was very slim based on what we saw on the pitch.

“But in the end, we won 3-0 taking despite hitting the posts and crossbars. The only flaw was the result at the end of the first half.”

Finally, the Nerazzurri tactician paid tribute to his players who have been working hard since the start of the season. He gives a special mention to those who arrived in the summer.

“The whole squad is doing great. Those who joined this season have been really good.

“We did very well this evening. But still have the final step to take on Monday.

“We’ve been playing excellent matches since July 13th. We are enjoying a great run. But we still need to improve by trying to understand where we can do better in games like this against an organized opponent.”
