Inter Milan legend Maicon lauds the club’s current team while recalling some of his fondest memories, including the win over Juventus.

The 42-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in 2006 following a stint at Monaco. He gradually established himself as arguably the best right-back in the world during his time at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The Brazilian reached the pinnacle of his career in 2009/10. He played an integral role in the club’s historic treble under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

Nevertheless, even his first appearance in the Black-and-Blue jersey also yielded a trophy. Maicon lifted the Italian Super Cup following a thrilling come-from-behind victory over AS Roma.

“From 0-3 to 4-3 in the Super Cup against Roma. This is a memory that I will behold forever. First, because I wore the Nerazzurri colors for the first time, and then due to the incredible comeback,” said the retired star in his interview with Matchday Programme via FcInterNews.

“We were three goals down at halftime but then managed to turn it around and clinch the trophy.”

The former Brazil international expressed his delight after entering the club’s Hall of Fame.

“Entering the Inter Hall of Fame was truly special. The love of the fans overwhelms me. What we did together was incredible.”

Maicon identified the win over Juventus in April as the match he’d love to relive. The victory over the Bianconeri saw him score a fantastic strike.

“If I could relive a match, I would choose the one against Juventus in April 2010 because that victory was an important step towards winning the scudetto.

“And then, of course, I scored an incredible goal!”

Finally, the former Man City and Roma man gave the seal of approval for Inter’s current team.

“I like this Inter. They play well and have a solid defense, which is very important. This is what makes the difference in the team.

“Then there’s Lautaro who is in great shape.”

Lautaro Martinez and company will be looking to confirm their hot run by winning the Italian Super Cup in Riyadh. They take on Lazio in the semi-final this evening.
