The entire Inter Milan team has received positive scores for their performance against Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana yesterday.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, award scores of 7/10 and 7.5/10 to numerous Nerazzurri players in the player ratings – and 8/10 to Simone Inzaghi.
Yesterday’s match was certainly a statement win from Inter.
The Nerazzurri battered the Lazio goal with 23 shots, seven of which were on target. And at the other end, the Biancocelesti took just five shots. Yann Sommer didn’t have a save to make.
If anything, the emphatic 3-0 scoreline flattered Lazio.
Naturally, this was the result of great work all around. And the Gazzetta highlight numerous great performances in the Inter team.
High Marks All Around For Inter In Supercoppa Demolition Of Lazio
The highest score goes to Inzaghi. The coach earned a glowing 8/10 review for masterminding the performance, which felt like a perfect illustration of his style of football.
Meanwhile, the likes of Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all earned scores of 7.5/10.
And then coming up behind that quartet, there were several Inter players to receive 7/10 scores.
Defender Benjamin Pavard received such a grade. As did midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu and strikers Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
Midfielder Davide Frattesi did not start the match. But the Italian international and former Sassuolo man certainly made his mark, grabbing yet another goal off of the bench.
Nonetheless, Frattesi received a score of 7/10 as well.
Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Alexis Sanchez, received scores of 6.5/10.
The lowest score in the Gazzetta’s player ratings goes to goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
The Swiss had a very uneventful evening, so there was not much to praise or criticize him for.
That is perhaps the best reflection of how well the match went for Inter, as the Nerazzurri booked their place in the final against Napoli in some style.
