Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has won praise for giving a “complete performance” against Lazio on Friday.

The Armenian received top marks in the player ratings for the match in Italian media, as L’Interista highlight.

Mkhitaryan took up his usual position on the left of Inter’s midfield trio on Friday.

The 34-year-old tends to be heavily involved in play in multiple areas of the pitch. And that was certainly the case against Lazio.

Mkhitaryan’s workrate off the ball was certainly evident. The former Arsenal and Roma veteran’s defensive effort helped in keeping Lazio from getting a foothold in the match.

And Mkhitaryan’s stamina was also important in possession, as he was quick to take up free positions so that he could link up with teammates, both deep and higher on the pitch.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Praised For “Complete Performance” Vs Lazio

Mkhitaryan showed why he has become virtually “undroppable” in Inter’s system with his display against Lazio.

The veteran midfielder was a vital cog down Inter’s left side.

The Nerazzurri used the very advanced positions of both defender Alessandro Bastoni and wingback Federico Dimarco in order to create overloads and passing combinations down that flank.

And Mkhitaryan was as important as either of that Italian pair in this endeavour.

Mkhitaryan proved to be the player who always positioned himself in a way to complement his teammates.

This meant that there was always the right sort of spacing for Inter to play quick passing triangles and move the ball into the left-hand channel.

And Mkhitaryan didn’t just intelligently get himself into these positions. He also made himself very useful when he got on the ball.

The Armenian always offered very quick and crisp passing that brought the best out of Bastoni and Darmian.

All in all, it was another excellent day at the office for a player who continues to shine at Inter.
