Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that motivation will be the decisive factor in the Supercoppa Italiana final against Napoli.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s performance against Lazio on Friday was, putting it mildly, not a bad one.

The Nerazzurri ran out 3-0 winners in the Supercoppa semifinal.

And if anything, that scoreline didn’t do enough to reflect the Nerazzurri’s dominance. It was a breathless performance in terms of passing football and keeping the tempo high.

But Napoli could present an even more formidable challenge.

The Partenopei may have been in very erratic form this season.

But the reigning Italian champions also got a 3-0 win over their own in the semifinal stage of the Supercoppa. They beat Fiorentina by that same scoreline to book their place in the final.

And Napoli will certainly not lack motivation to try and prove why they won the Serie A title last season.

Inzaghi: Motivation Will Be Decisive In Inter Vs Napoli Supercoppa Final

Inter certainly gave a strong display from a tactical point of view against Lazio.

The Nerazzurri controlled the possession and were constantly able to find a free player and passing combinations to keep the tempo high and move the ball into dangerous areas.

This was not easy against a tough Maurizio Sarri-coached Lazio team. But Napoli will be quite a different challenge.

“We’re studying the way they play,” Inzaghi said of the Partenopei. “Because up until now, they’ve been playing high up the pitch.”

“But what matters most in these matches is the motivation of the teams,” he continued.

And Inzaghi also spoke about the fact that he could become the coach with the best record in the Supercoppa if he is to beat Napoli tomorrow.

The coach stressed that “Putting Inter above all else is what matters.”
