The agent of Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez believes his client is the best striker in Europe alongside Man City star Erling Haaland.
The Argentine has been firing on all cylinders since the start of the season. He currently leads the Serie A scoring charts with 18 goals.
The 26-year-old also delivered the last-gasp winner in Monday’s Italian Super Cup final against Inter.
Therefore, his agent Alejandro Camano feels that the Nerazzurri captain is now on par with the free-scoring Manchester City bomber.
“Lautaro is a top star in Italian and European football,” said the agent in his interview with Radio Sportiva via FcInter1908.
“Today, I believe that he and Haaland are the best two center forwards in Europe.
“Lauatro and Inter have massively improved. They finished second in Europe last season and are displaying incredible football. This makes us very happy.”
Camano also offered some updates on the ongoing negotiations with the Inter management over the contract renewal.
“Lautaro is a top-notch star. Thus, finding an agreement isn’t a simple task. There are many aspects to discuss.
“At the moment, we don’t have a final agreement yet. But we remain calm and we’re still in constant talks with the club.
“Now the most important thing is the team. Lautaro is happy. He arrived as a boy and has matured greatly. Today, he is a top player as well as club captain.
“He still has two and a half years on his current contract. So there is a lot of time to talk, but we’re negotiating. Today the focus is on Serie A and the Champions League.”

On another note, the Argentine’s agent highlights how his client has always been able to take the best out of his attacking partner.
“Many center forwards have played alongside Lautaro, from Lukaku to Dzeko and now Thuram. The truth is that he is generous and whoever plays next to him becomes the protagonist.
“He is a true captain, he works for the team. Lautaro is humble, he fits well at the club.
“If we manage to reach an agreement with Inter that would be great. Otherwise, everyone in football is a professional and will act likewise.
“The ideas are close, but for now, there is no agreement. But we’re working towards it.”
Finally, Camano praised Inter coach Simone Inzaghi while identifying Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as the best.
“Nowadays, Inzaghi has become one of the best managers in European football, Ancelotti is the number one when it comes to coaching big clubs, but Simone is great.
“Inzaghi is showcasing his abilities: Inter lost a Champions League final following a great match and an impressive performance.
“Today, Inter are leading the league. They have a strong group, we must be happy if we reach the end of the season on top of the Serie A table.”
