Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez continues to consolidate his status as an influential leader with his inspiring team talks.
The 26-year-old led the Nerazzurri to a third Italian Super Cup triumph in a row in what was the first-ever expanded edition of the competition.
The Argentine scored the last-gasp winner that ended Napoli’s resistance in Monday’s final.
This paramount strike allowed him to lift his maiden trophy as club captain.
However, this triumph didn’t lure away the striker’s focus on the club’s more important season objectives.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Martinez immediately turned his attention back to the Scudetto race after celebrating the Supercoppa.
The 2022 World Cup winner delivered a speech expressing his pride in donning the captain’s armband. But at the same time, he urged his teammates to keep their guard up ahead of a vital league fixture against Fiorentina.
“I am proud to be the captain of such a great team,” said Lautaro in his speech.
“But let’s not lower the intensity. This was only the first stage of a long campaign.
“We must focus on the next match because it’s incredibly important for the league table.

“Let’s stay on the right track and focus on every match until the very end, just like we did against Napoli.
“We’re on the right path. we must always put the team ahead of ourselves, as we have always done. And we will have nothing to fear.”
The source adds that some people at the club’s headquarters at Appiano Gentile feel that the club has been missing such a charismatic captain since Javier Zanetti’s retirement.
Andrea Ranocchia, Mauro Icardi and Samir Handanovic had subsequently donned the armband in the previous nine campaigns.
