Inter Milan are not worried in the least about the status of contract talks with Lautaro Martinez despite cautious words from his agent.

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, report that recent comments by the 26-year-old Nerazzurri captain’s agent didn’t bother the club in the least.

Widespread reports suggest that Inter have made extending Martinez’s contract a priority.

The Argentine is the club’s captain. He has also been their top scorer in each of the past two seasons, and has already hit 21 goals in all competitions this season.

So it is not hard to see why the Nerazzurri want to secure Martinez’s long-term future sooner rather than later.

But an official announcement has not yet arrived.

Despite reports having indicated that Martinez could put pen to paper some time in January, the former Racing Club striker has not yet done so.

Inter Have Zero Worries About Contract Extension Talks With Lautaro Martinez

Yesterday, Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano weighed in on the status of contract talks with Inter.

The agent did make clear that the 26-year-old’s desire is indeed to stay at Inter for the long-term future.

And he also emphasized that Martinez is focused entirely on the Nerazzurri, and not looking at any other offers.

But at the same time, Camano was equally keen to stress that the negotiations are still ongoing.

Inter still have work to do to convince Martinez to sign a new deal.

And Camano also pointedly made clear that the striker will only sign a deal that he feels compensates him as he “deserves.”

There could be some reading between the lines that the agent was hinting at the sort of wage increase that Martinez wants – and that Inter haven’t gone high enough.

But according to Sky, Inter remain calm as ever.

The Nerazzurri believe that the contract talks with Martinez are well on track. And that they should have no trouble getting them over the line.

Camano’s words were just that – words. But for Sky, Inter are not worried that the agent is making any waves.
