Man United and Bayern Munich are keen as Denzel Dumfries is looking more and more likely to leave Inter Milan next summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

With Dumfries out of contract at Inter at the end of June 2025, the Nerazzurri want to agree a contract extension with the Dutchman.

Otherwise, the club’s intention would be to sell Dumfries during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Inter would have no intention of seeing Dumfries go into the final season of his deal.

The Nerazzurri already had one high-profile player leave on a free transfer recently. Milan Skriniar decided to join Paris Saint-Germain last summer rather than extending his contract.

And Inter do not want the same to happen with Dumfries.

And FCIN report that a sale is looking more and more likely, rather than a new contract.

This is because significant distance remains between Inter’s offer and the demands of the player and his representatives.

Inter have put forward the offer of a new four-year deal worth around €4 million net per season.

Meanwhile, Dumfries and his representatives are still asking for €5 million net per season.

Moreover, the abolition of the Growth Decree in Italian football means that it would be more difficult financially speaking for Inter to go much higher in their offer.

Man United & Bayern Munich On Alert As Denzel Dumfries Could Leave Inter

Inter also signed a potential long-term replacement for Dumfries already this month.

24-year-old Canadian international Tajon Buchanan is a player who the Nerazzurri as similar to Dumfries in quality.

Therefore, if Buchanan fits in well, it would be more straightforward on a technical level for Inter to sell Dumfries.

Then, the Nerazzurri could cash in for a significant fee, and reinvest only a relatively modest fee in a backup for Buchanan rather than having to break the bank replacing Dumfries.

As far as clubs with an interest in signing Dumfries, FCIN identify two.

According to the outlet, both of Manchester United and Bayern have inquired about Dumfries.

FCIN report that United in particular consider the 27-year-old former PSV man a target.

This is largely because of the admiration that their coach Erik Ten Hag has for Dumfries.

The only hitch concerns the future of Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

If the ex-Ajax coach were to be sacked before the end of the season, then it is possible that United’s chase of Dumfries would evaporate.
