Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano will have his star Nicolas Gonzalez back at his disposal for the clash against Inter Milan this weekend.

The Argentine winger started the season on a bright note, scoring six goals in 13 Serie A appearances.

However, an injury ruled him out of action for the last month and a half.

But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Gonzalez will be available once again when Fiorentina host Inter at the Artemio Franchi on Sunday night.

Nevertheless, the 25-year-old isn’t yet fit enough to play for the duration of the match. Thus, the report expects Jonathan Ikone to start before making way for the Argentine in the second period.

The former Stuttgart man joined the Viola in the summer of 2021 and rapidly established himself as a fan favorite in Tuscany.

A large section of fans and observers consider him the most talented and decisive player at the club.

Fiorentina Can Count On The Returning Nico Gonzalez Against Inter Milan

Moreover, the pink newspaper claims that Italiano is also contemplating a tactical change.

The former Spezia boss often plays in a formation varying between 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1. However, he could introduce a drastic change to mirror his opponents and start with a 3-4-1-2 lineup.

The Nerazzurri will be hoping to regain their spot on top of the table with a win in Tuscany. Juventus seized the lead last week while Simone Inzaghi’s men were taking part in the Italian Super Cup tournament in Riyadh.

Inter returned victorious from the Middle East, but will now shift their focus towards the league, as winning the Scudetto remains the club’s main objective this season.
