Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that he’s grown a lot at the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over Fiorentina this evening, via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old thanked his teammates for the role they’ve played in helping him.

Asllani has been an Inter player for a season and a half now.

Still, the Albanian international and former Empoli midfielder is not yet 22 years of age.

Asllani was never a player who Inter signed to become a regular first-choice starter right away.

But there was little choice but to give the Albanian the chance this evening.

With Hakan Calhanoglu missing due to suspension, it was Asllani who held down the base of Inter’s midfield.

And it was not a display that suggested any lack of maturity or confidence on the part of the 21-year-old.

Asllani put in an accomplished performance on both sides of the ball.

And in the final minutes of the match, the young midfielder was not afraid to get his hands dirty with some important defensive interventions.

This match felt like a big step for Asllani in many respects. And for his part, the Albanian feels that his teammates have helped him to get to this point.

Kristjan Asllani: Grown A Lot At Inter

After this evening’s match, Asllani reflected that “I feel like I’ve grown.”

The Albanian continued that “I have teammates who help me every day. And I’m learning a lot from them.”

Of the match against Fiorentina, Asllani said that “We knew it would be really tough. Coming to Florence and taking three points is never easy.”

“We did well, and in the end the result was our reward.”

“Tonight the result is what matters,” the Albanian continued. “Because we deserved to win.”

“And then we’ll try to win the next match as always.”

As far as his position on the pitch, Asllani asserted that “Regista is my role.”

“That’s where I’m happy playing,” the 21-year-old continued.

“I’m learning a lot from Calhanoglu this season,” the young midfielder said.

“And from Brozovic last season. But also from Mkhitarian, Barella, and the rest of my teammates.”

“I’m happy that I got my first assist,” he added. “Now let’s hope that I can get my first goal as well.”
