Former Nerazzurri defender Daniele Adani feels that Inter Milan got a “scrappy” win over Fiorentina and had to “suffer” to do so.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Sport, via FCInterNews, the former defender gave his thoughts on his old team’s 1-0 Serie A win on Sunday evening.

Inter did get what they came for at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

However, it was a match which saw the Nerazzurri have to play much of the match in their own half.

La Viola pushed forward and put the pressure on Inter’s penalty area.

And Nerazzurri goalkeeper Yann Sommer had to save a penalty in order to keep their clean sheet and with it the win.

But Inter managed to get the job done.

It was an important result for the Nerazzurri. Particularly considering that Juventus had drawn on Saturday against Empoli.

And then, the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri will meet next weekend.

Adani: Inter “Suffered” For “Scrappy” Win Vs Fiorentina

Adani argued of Sunday evening’s win that “It was a difficult match for the Nerazzurri.”

“They brought home the points after a hard-fought win,” he continued.

Former defender Adani noted that “Inter have taken 54 points from 21 matches. They’ve scored fifty goals and conceding ten.”

“They have the top scorer in the league. And also the keeper with the most clean sheets.”

Adani went on that against Fiorentina “They played a serious match. They weren’t able to find the second goal, but they held out, even without Barella and Calhanoglu.”

“We know which team is the strongest in the league,” the former defender argued.

He continued, “But then it has to be demonstrated on the pitch.”

The former defender said that “In Florence they played a scrappy match, against a Fiorentina who probably would have deserved something more than they got out of it.”
