Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi is still waiting to complete his transfer to Leicester City whilst the two clubs agree on a formula for the deal.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908.
There are just a couple days left to go in the January transfer window. And 28-year-old former Sassuolo midfielder Sensi remains an Inter player.
The Nerazzurri have been negotiating a possible transfer with Leicester for most of January.
The Foxes have made Sensi a major target. Their coach Enzo Maresca has specifically asked that his club go after the Italian international.
And for his part, Sensi wants the move.
Meanwhile, Inter would certainly have no issue with cashing in on a player who is on the margins of their plans and is in the final six months of his deal.
So by all accounts, the two clubs have been rapidly approaching an end to negotiations.
However, as of today, Sensi has yet to actually complete the move.
Stefano Sensi Yet To Complete Leicester Move As Clubs Negotiate Formula Of Transfer
FCIN1908 report that Inter and Leicester have yet to decisively find an agreement on the formula of a transfer for Sensi.
The outlet report that the Foxes want an initial loan containing a purchase obligation on certain conditions.
This would be more financially feasible for the 2015-16 Premier League champions.
If Leicester sign Sensi on loan and then have a purchase obligation that is conditional on being promoted to the English top flight, then there would be no financial issues with the deal for them.
If, on the other hand, it is a permanent deal, then this could be a problem in the event that Leicester fail to achieve promotion.
For his part, Sensi would be willing to extend his contract in order to facilitate a loan move.
But Inter staunchly prefer to sell the midfielder outright.
There is little disagreement between the two clubs regarding a valuation for Sensi.
The total amount would come to around €2-3 million one way or the other.
But there is as of yet no conclusive agreement on the formula of a deal.
