Inter Milan have already decided which big name player they will sell during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908, name Denzel Dumfries as the player who the Nerazzurri will cash in on.
Over the past few summers, big name departures have become routine at Inter.
In the summer of 2021, both of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku left in massive money deals.
Then in 2022, Milan Skriniar was linked with a sale to Paris Saint-Germain for a significant fee for much of the summer.
The Slovak stayed at Inter in the end. However, he then joined PSG on a free transfer last summer.
Also leaving the Nerazzurri last summer was goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The Cameroonian joined Manchester United in a blockbuster deal that funded the raft of signings that Inter made during the window.
And according to Tuttosport, Inter will be making yet another big name sale next summer.
Inter Milan To Sell Denzel Dumfries Next Summer
Tuttosport report that Inter have identified Dumfries as the player that they will cash in on at the end of the season.
A decisive factor is the current contract standoff between the Nerazzurri and the Dutchman.
Dumfries is currently under contract with Inter until the end of June 2025.
That means that if the 27-year-old does not sign an extension, then next season would be his last before he could theoretically leave on a free transfer.
Inter have already had one bad experience with this kind of situation in recent memory as they missed out on a big fee for Skriniar.
Therefore, Inter see this summer as the ideal opportunity to sell Dumfries.
The Nerazzurri will look to bring in a sizable transfer fee for the former PSV wingback, who is still on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs.
Then, this money can be reinvested in bolstering the squad in other areas.
