Brazilian goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao has rejoined Inter Milan after ending his loan stint at Ternana, and could now be set to complete a transfer to Santos.

The 23-year-old joined the Nerazzurri back in 2019. Since then, he has embarked on consecutive loan spells between Italy and abroad.

Last summer, the custodian signed for Ternana on loan.

But after failing to make a single appearance, Brazao has now officially ended his time with the Serie B side prematurely.

As FcInterNews tells it, the Brazilian has now returned to Inter. Nevertheless, Simone Inzaghi already has three first-team goalkeepers in the shape of Yann Sommer, Emil Audero and Raffaele Di Gennaro.

Therefore, Brazao won’t linger at Appiano Gentile for too long.

Instead, the Cruzeiro youth product is ready to make a return to his native country.

The Nerazzurri shot-stopper has attracted interest from Santos who have recently suffered their first relegation to the Brazilian second tier in their 111-year history.

Santos Bound Gabriel Brazao Returns To Inter Milan After Ending Ternana Loan Spell

The fallen giants are now looking to build a young and competent squad that can guide the club back to its rightful place as rapidly as possible.

So as the source tells it, Santos have identified Brazao as the right profile for the job between the posts. They have until the 19th of February to register the player in the competition.

However, the report notes that the Brazilian club must first resolve the dispute with their former manager Fabian Bustos over unpaid wages.

This prompted a transfer ban from FIFA, which currently prevents Santos from making new signings..

We shall see if they will manage to reach a settlement that unties this bureaucratic knot and paves the way for Brazao’s arrival.
