The agent of new Juventus signing Carlos Alcaraz confirms that Inter Milan had once considered the Argentine a target.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInter1908, Alcaraz’s agent Sebastian Lopez noted that the Nerazzurri never ultimately made the move.

Alcaraz has landed in Serie A.

The 21-year-old joined Juventus on a six-month loan deal from Southampton at the end of last month. The Bianconeri will also have the option to sign the player on a permanent basis.

Alcaraz had been a player on Inter’s radar when he was at Racing Club.

However, the Nerazzurri never ended up signing the Argentine.

Instead, it was Southampton who brought Alcaraz to Europe. Saints signed the young midfielder last January as part of their efforts to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Southampton were unable to beat the drop. However, they kept hold of Alcaraz for the first half of the season, despite his impressive performances leading to some transfer interest.

That would only last for half a season though.

Agent Of Juventus New Boy Carlos Alcaraz Confirms Inter Had Been Interested

Juvetus made Alcaraz their big midfield signing of the January transfer window.

The Bianconeri had looked at a number of possible options to reinforce in central areas.

However, in the end it was Alcaraz who finally came on to the radar of Inter’s main rivals for the Serie A title this season.

Given that the 21-year-old had not been playing top flight football so far this season, the Bianconeri managed to sign him from Southampton.

Alcaraz’s agent Lopez confirmed that “Inter had been interested in him [when the Argentine was at Racing Club.]”

“However, they never made a move for him.”

“So eventually he landed in the Premier League,” the agent noted.

And of tomorrow’s match between Inter and Juventus, Lopez added that “It’s a great classic match. He hopes to play in it.”
