Juventus coach Max Allegri is still being coy about Serie A title talk, even with tomorrow’s Derby d’Italia clash with Inter Milan in view.
The Bianconeri boss continued to insist that his team’s main goal for the season remains Champions League football in a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match, as reported by FCInterNews.
Looking at the Serie A table, it seems clear enough that Inter and Juventus are the two main candidates to win the title.
AC Milan are a few points back, though still theoretically within catching distance.
Meanwhile, other rivals like Roma, Lazio, an defending champions Napoli are much further back.
Therefore, it is not without reason that tomorrow’s match has a certain air of a potential title-decider.
However, Juventus coach Allegri has been trying to downplay this kind of talk for much of the campaign.
There has been some coy talk of “cops and robbers” from the 56-year-old. Veteran coach Allegri hasn’t entirely denied the prospect of a title race with Inter.
However, the Bianconeri coach seems determined to take the pressure off on that front.
Allegri is still talking about Champions League football and top four above all.

“Tomorrow will be a great match against a very strong Inter team,” Allegri said ahead of the Derby d’Italia.
“It’s another stage on our journey,” the Juventus coach continued.
“There are still a lot of points that we need to secure Champions League football, which is our goal,” Allegri said.
And the Bianconeri coach also updated on the fitness of a couple important players.
Of forward Federico Chiesa, Allegri said that “He always tries to give his all.”
“It’s normal considering the way that he’s play that the injury he had is still affecting him,” the coach added.
“But the more time that passes, the better his condition will be.”
The Juventus coach also noted of midfielder Adrien Rabiot that “Rabiot is a tough player in the dressing room and on the pitch.”
