Defender Benjamin Pavard is happy to have become part of Inter Milan this season.

The former Bayern Munich man spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, following the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over Juventus, expressing the hope of winning the title.

Pavard put in yet another outstanding display at the back this evening.

The 27-year-old was a key cog in an Inter back three that kept a clean sheet against a formidable Juventus attack containing the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Kenan Yildiz, and Federico Chiesa.

The entire Nerazzurri team worked hard to keep the Bianconeri from scoring.

But Pavard certainly more than played his part with some outstanding one-on-one defending as well as a bit of last-ditch heroics.

The Frenchman has continued to grow into the Inter shirt.

Benjamin Pavard: Happy To Be At Inter, Want To Win Serie A Title

Pavard had missed around six weeks during the fall due to injury. But other than that disruption, the momentum has been very positive.

Inter signed Pavard to a lot of fanfare last summer.

The Frenchman is a World Cup winner with his country. And he has won just about everything there is to win at club level with Bayern.

But Pavard has never won a league title outside of Germany.

And the defender’s performances for Inter have shown his hunger to do just that in Serie A.

After the final whistle in the Derby d’Italia, Pavard said that “It was an important match.”

“The atmosphere is fantastic,” the 27-year-old continued.

“And winning was hugely important.”

As far as whether this evening’s win was “decisive” for the title, Pavard cautioned “No. There are still a lot of matches to go, and we have to think about them one at a time.”

“Italian football is very tactical,” Pavard noted. “I’m happy to be here. The level is very high.”

“I’m very happy to be at Inter, and I hope that we win the Scudetto,” the Frenchman added.
