Benjamin Pavard feels that Inter Milan performed brilliantly as a “collective” to beat Juventus in the Derby d’Italia.

The Frenchman spoke to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews, after the 1-0 Serie A win over the Nerazzurri’s title rivals.

There were certainly a lot of great individual performances by Inter players yesterday evening.

Pavard’s was among them. The 27-year-old former Bayern Munich man was outstanding on both sides of the ball.

But Inter could not have gotten as convincing of a win as they did without the entire team functioning in perfect order as a unit.

The strikers may not have been decisive in front of goal. But they troubled the Bianconeri backline, and acted as the first line of defense.

Inter looked composed in how they kept hold of possession, keeping the ball moving crisply despite the pressure applied by Juventus.

And when the Nerazzurri had to suffer, they suffer. Every Inter player player knew where to be in the defensive shape. And everyone made sure to be in the way of any dangerous Bianconeri move.

Benjamin Pavard Hails “Great Collective Performance” By Inter Vs Juventus

Speaking after yesterday’s match, Pavard said that “I think the whole team was at an exceptional level.”

“It was a great collective performance,” the 2018 World Cup winner said.

“Both the starters and also the players who came on as substitutes.”

“And also the fans, who created a fiery atmosphere,” Pavard said of the packed house at the San Siro, urging Inter on to get the big win in the title race.

“I’m happy that you consider me to have been the best player on the pitch,” the former Bayern man replied to praise from the SportItalia journalist.

And Pavard finished that “Now I’m thinking about Roma. And then all the matches to come for us.”
