Naples media have given further confirmation that midfielder Piotr Zielinski has rejected a Napoli contract extension offer to join Inter Milan.

Broadcaster Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via FCInterNews, who report that the Polish international has turned down a four-year offer from Napoli worth €5 million net per season.

It now looks as though, barring any dramatic reversals, it is only a matter of time before Zielinski becomes an Inter player.

The 29-year-old will remain at Napoli until the end of the season. His contract with the reigning Italian champions expires at the end of June.

But widespread reports indicate that Zielinski is on the verge of committing his future to Inter.

The Nerazzurri saw the opportunity to sign the Pole on a free transfer given his contract extension.

And evidently, Zielinski was quite receptive to Inter’s offer.

Naples Media Confirm Piotr Zielinski Rejects Napoli Offer To Join Inter

Key to Inter landing Zielinski has been the midfielder’s decision not to accept a contract offer from Napoli.

There have been contract extension talks between Zielinski and Napoli over the past couple months.

Initially, the Partenopei’s offer to Zielinski had been lower, reports suggest.

But in the last few weeks, Napoli have improved their bid as they’ve attempted to ward of Inter’s move for the midfielder.

Radio Kiss Kiss confirm that the final offer from the Partenopei was worth around €5 million net per season.

Moreover, Napoli have tabled a four-year contract offer. That is hardly insubstantial considering that Zielinski will turn thirty this year.

But in the end, this was not enough to convince the Pole.

Zielinski has been convinced by Inter’s offer on a footballing level as well as a financial one.

Therefore, the Pole should soon make his summer transfer to the Nerazzurri official. He will wear the shirt of the current Serie A league leaders in just a few months’ time.
