Inter Milan and Lautaro Martinez are reportedly working on reaching a compromise that allows them to extend their collaboration.
The Nerazzurri are hellbent on renewing the player’s contract which remains valid until June 2026.
As we reported earlier in the day, there’s a gap between the two parties worth around two million euros.
In other words, the management is offering 8 million euros plus add-ons, while the player and his entourage are gunning for 10 million.
But according to Sport Mediaset via FcInter1908, the two parties can reach a compromise at the halfway point.
While the gap remains comprehensive, the hierarchy can shorten it by raising the bonuses.
The source believes that the white smoke will eventually emerge once the two parties settle for a figure close to 9 million euros.
The Argentina international has been at the club since 2018. He has now cemented himself as Inter’s talismanic captain and ultimate top-scorer.
The 26-year-old currently leads the Serie A scoring charts with 19 goals from 20 appearances.

On another note, the same report reveals that Nicolo Barella’s renewal is also moving in the right direction.
Similar to Lautaro’s contract, the Italian’s deal will expire in 2026, but the management is looking to secure the player’s services with a long-term arrangement. The Nerazzurri are looking to push back the deadline by another two years.
The Euro 2020 winner joined the Serie A giants in 2019 after making his breakthrough at Cagliari.
He has now established himself as one of the main pillars at the club and a top-notch midfielder with many suitors on the continent seeking his services.
