Referee Marco Guida will be in charge in this weekend’s anticipated Serie A clash between AS Roma and Inter Milan.

The Giallorossi are enjoying a prosperous period following the appointment of Daniele De Rossi who replaced Jose Mourinho.

The Roma legend led his beloved club towards three wins in as many games. However, his first stern test will come against Simone Inzaghi and his high-flying band.

According to FcInterNews, the AIA have appointed Marco Guida as the man in charge of the contest at the Olimpico Stadium.

The Pompei native will thus officiate a Nerazzurri fixture for the 30th time in his career. In the previous 29 occasions, Inter registered 14 wins, nine draws and six defeats.

This term, Inzaghi’s men have failed to record a win in Guida’s presence. They settled for a disappointing 2-2 draw against Bologna earlier in the season.

The Nerazzurri then shared the spoils with Juventus in the first Derby d’Italia of the season back in November. The contest, which was held at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, ended 1-1.

Therefore, Inter will be hoping to change the habit by claiming their first win of the season with Guida on the pitch.

This season, the 42-year-old has officiated 10 Serie A fixtures in total. He showed the yellow card on 48 occasions, but only sent off a player on a solitary occasion. The experienced match official awarded spot-kicks five times this season.

Guida was also in charge of three UEFA Champions League fixtures this season: Lens vs Arsenal. Man Utd vs Copenhagen and Royal Antwerp vs Barcelona.
