Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi should likely be fit for this Friday’s Serie A match against Salernitana.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. Sky anticipate that the 24-year-old will return to training either tomorrow or on Thursday.

Frattesi has already missed a couple matches for Inter.

The former Sassuolo midfielder did not feature in the Derby d’Italia against Juventus, due to a muscle problem that he had picked up in the warmup.

That was confirmed to be a thigh strain for the Italian international.

That injury caused Frattesi to also miss out on this past Saturday’s Serie A win over Roma. He was not in the squad for the trip to the Stadio Olimpico.

The question, though, has been whether Frattesi would be able to return in time for Inter’s next match.

That will come at the end of this week. The Nerazzurri host bottom-of-the-table Salernitana in Serie A.

Inter Midfielder Davide Frattesi Likely To Return For Salernitana Clash

Inter will in all likelihood play with a fairly heavily-rotated team against Salernitana this Friday.

The Nerazzurri will also have next week’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg against Atletico Madrid to think about.

Therefore, it is probable that some lesser-seen names from the Inter squad will be on the pitch against the Granata.

That would have seemingly marked this Friday as a great opportunity for Frattesi. The 24-year-old has so far made just two starts in Serie A, largely featuring from the bench.

According to Sky, it now looks as though Frattesi will be fit for Friday’s match.

The Italian is not yet back in training with the rest of the squad. However, his recovery process is moving along well.

So a return to full training in the next couple of days would be probable, Sky reports.

As such, Inter should be able to count on Frattesi, either from the start or from the bench, against Salernitana.
