Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski will receive a sign-on bonus of €3 million to join Inter Milan on a free transfer next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who also report that the 29-year-old’s agents will receive a commission of €4.5 million.

Zielinski will be joining Inter without a transfer fee next summer.

Signing players on free transfers has certainly become a habit for the Nerazzurri.

Inter have signed the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Andre Onana, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Marcus Thuram at the end of their contracts with their previous clubs in recent seasons.

And now two more big names will come in via the same route.

One is striker Mehdi Taremi, nearing the end of his deal with Porto. And then there is midfielder Zielinski, who has decided to leave Napoli and join Inter.

The Polish international will not command a transfer fee, considering that his contract with the Partenopei runs out at the end of June of this year.

However, that does not mean that there won’t be other costs for Inter to sign Zielinski.

Inter To Pay Piotr Zielinski €3M Sign-On Bonus

It is often customary for players who arrive on free transfers to receive a sign-on bonus.

Given that clubs do not have to pay a transfer fee, there is cash to spare in lieu of a fee.

And according to the Corriere, Zielinski is set to receive such a payment. It will come to around €3 million in total.

Meanwhile, the Corriere report, the Pole’s representatives will also receive an agent commission.

That will come to around €4 million.

And in terms of wages, Zielinski will earn around €4.5 million net per season plus add-ons with the Nerazzurri.

The former Empoli and Udinese midfielder will sign a three-year deal, with the option of one further season.
