Porto striker Mehdi Taremi will sign for Inter Milan despite the recent delay in his medical checks.

The Iranian was scheduled to land in the Italian peninsula on Tuesday to undergo his medical before signing a pre-contract agreement with the Nerazzurri.

But while the parties were hoping to wrap up the operation in secrecy, news reports leaked the story.

This prompted the postponement of the player’s flight to Italy.

But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, this delay won’t affect the overall plan at all.

The source insists that Taremi is already betrothed to Inter. The marriage will undoubtedly take place in the summer, as the pink newspaper puts it.

The Iran international will leave Porto at the end of the season to join the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.

But as the report explains, the delay was necessary following Porto’s unexpected defeat on Monday night.

While the players were going to get a day off on Tuesday, coach Sergio Conceicao changed his mind following the loss, thus organizing a training session.

Nevertheless, Taremi’s arrival at Inter remains a matter of time, insists the source. The only thing that remains uncertain is the timing of his medical.

Inter Milan Will Still Finalize The Transfer Of Mehdi Taremi

Over the past few months, the Nerazzurri have been working tirelessly on securing the 31-year-old’s services.

In fact, Inter tried to sign Taremi in the summer but were repelled by Porto’s hefty asking price.

AC Milan also emerged as a strong candidate for the striker’s signature. But the player eventually remained in Portugal for his last contractual year with Porto.

This season, the attacker has thus far contributed with six goals and four assists across all competitions.
